Anietie James Ekiko, known professionally as AJE, is a Nigerian cinematographer, executive producer, director and Founder of AJE Filmworks Limited. He is one of the most sought-after visual directors in the entertainment industry, known for rapture-inspiring narrative style, a penchant for details and reverence for the art.
AJE has been at the helm of several note-worthy productions, like commercials for the Purple campaign, on 50/50 World and Premium Pension TV commercial for YellowBrick road. His extensive resume includes a documentary for alcoholic beverage, Orijin titled “A day in the life of Reminisce,” a commercial for Uber, as well as several brands.
AJE has directed several many music videos for stellar artistes such as Davido, Kiss Daniel, Patoranking, Waje, Ice Prince, Brymo, Saucekid, Adekunle Gold, Sugarboy, Tekno, Korede Bello, Rayce, Iyanya, KC, Falz the Bahdguy, SolidStarr, Omawunmi, Skalez, Sean Tizzle, Durella, Zone Fam, DJ Spinal and many more.
He has won several awards, being nominated and recognized nationally and internationally. AJE was among the nominees for the Music Video Director of the Year at the 2019 Stars Of Naija Awards for Madu by Kizz Daniel. As one who aspires greatly to the promotion of culture and art, and one of those who are not afraid to blaze a new trail, AJE recently ventured into the movie space, debuting as Director of Photography for “Bad Comment,” a blockbuster from Nollywood. He also headed the post-production/colour grading of AY’s “Merry Men 2” which grossed N36.89 million in its first weekend in December 2019.
